HABITAT PRESS SHOW - aw14

Last Wednesday saw the Habitat Press Show taking place on London's Southbank. The Oxo Tower Bargehouse was the atmospheric venue for the launch of their Autumn Winter 2014 designs. I fell in love straight away with their geometric 'Tavio' print used on the show poster and doors. One of the main themes of their new range is fragmented pattern, taking lots of geometric patterns and motifs but chopping them up to make new arrangements. Habitat describe it as taking pattern apart and reassembling it to make something entirely new. The results are a choppy and spontaneous jigsaw that is colourful, playful and fun. Also shown you can see a continued use of cross hatching and a shot of the textile room laid out with rugs and cushions.

HABITAT - 50yrs/design reunion

Habitat are also celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year and to celebrate at the Press Show in London last week a special room was given over to their 'Design Reunion' project where they have welcomed back acclaimed designers who have previously collaborated with Habitat. These included a beautiful rug called 'Fifty Leaves' by Sarah Campbell ( of renowned Collier Campbell fame). The products will launch in September to coincide with London Design week.  The Habitat logo above has been designed by James Joyce to celebrate 50 years since Terence Conran founded the business and opened their first store on Fulham Road in 1964.

HABITAT AW14 - cushions & pillows

The 'Tavio' design seen on the outside of the Press Show venue continued onto product inside the Habitat Autumn Winter preview. Here are some snapshots of the many beautiful and colourful cushions and pillowcases that were on show at the Oxo Bargehouse last week, and will soon be in Habitat stores and online.
